MiM have had a phenomenal impact on the educational support for our children in care who have had various struggles accessing school provision. Lyndsey and her team have an incredible skill of building a relationship with the young person and the school, understanding individual barriers to education and thus supporting schools with implementing changes that have a lasting impact on our young people. From supporting with school avoidance and low attendance to identifying how to support with understanding the underlying causes of dysregulation within the learning environment, MiM have provided invaluable insights and interventions. They are trauma informed in all of their work and can build relationships with young people with ease. MiM create bespoke interventions based on each young person’s needs. If required, their work can involve supporting and training school staff as well. What we have found to be so useful, is the in-depth understanding MiM are able to get of young people who can be the most difficult to reach. The support they provide school with understanding which interventions and strategies work best for the individual is a key aspect of their work – for MiM it is not about a quick fix for the short term. It is about long-lasting change and empowering young people to have the knowledge and skills to be able to independently regulate, with the informed support of the adults around them.
